NASA Space Vehicle Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) / Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer
CACI International Inc is seeking an experienced Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) / Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer to join the Space Vehicle EMI / EMC Analysis Team at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. The role involves performing and coordinating EMI/EMC analysis efforts on various human spaceflight programs, requiring strong technical expertise and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
Analyze EMI/EMC test results and generate comprehensive reports. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers and product managers, to incorporate EMI/EMC considerations during product development
Develop and implement effective shielding and grounding strategies to minimize electromagnetic interference
Conduct thorough EMI/EMC risk assessments, considering factors such as electromagnetic environment and potential sources of interference
Utilize electromagnetic simulation tools to create accurate models of electronic systems and components, including circuit boards, cables, and connectors
Perform electromagnetic simulations to analyze electromagnetic emissions, susceptibility, and coupling effects
Validate simulation results by comparing them with measured data and test results, ensuring accuracy and reliability
Generate comprehensive reports and documentation summarizing simulation methodologies, results, and recommendations for design enhancements
Stay updated on the latest advancements in electromagnetic modeling and simulation techniques, tools, and standards
Qualification
Required
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident for access to USG facilities
B.S. in Electrical Engineering, or Physics, or related disciplines with a focus on electromagnetics
Minimum of 5-10 years of EMI/EMC requirements, analysis, design, and test experience involving circuits, electromagnetic field theory, Maxwell's equations, radio frequency (RF) design, cable shielding, magnetics, antennas, and filters
Knowledge of EMI / EMC requirements and test methodology
Knowledge of performing EMI / EMC tests such as conducted susceptibility (CS), conducted emissions (CE), radiated susceptibility (RS), and radiated emissions (RE)
Familiarization with EMC receivers and spectrum analyzers
Basic knowledge of and experience with Labview or TILE
Able and willing to teach and mentor others in your area of specialty, especially project personnel who may not be EMI/EMC experts
Must be flexible, open to new challenges in a dynamic environment, and possess strong technical expertise combined with strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities with little supervision
Must be a highly responsible, team-oriented individual with strong work ethic
Preferred
M.S. or Ph. D. in Physics or Electrical Engineering with thesis in electromagnetics, with professional work experience in the field
Previous work experience with MIL-STD-461, NASA-STD-4003, or similar standards
Experience with Pspice analytical tool
INARTE Certification
Knowledge of electrical safety
Materials expertise including paint, anodize, Alodine, and other surface finishes and platings
