Aldevron, a Danaher operating company, is dedicated to advancing life sciences and biotechnology. They are seeking a Vice President of Research and Development to establish research priorities, mentor R&D teams, and interface with clients to drive innovation and achieve strategic goals.

Responsibilities

Establish research priorities, resourcing, and scientific outcomes to achieve the company’s strategic goals and objectives

Provide the scientific background knowledge needed to make important decisions and develop future strategic plans

Supervise key discovery experiments and development processes to advance the company’s pipeline programs towards development milestones

Mentor and develop direct R&D reports, contributing to the company’s IP portfolio for its R&D pipeline

Serve as the technical leader on core product/process initiatives to ensure new products and processes are developed to keep Aldevron leading the industry

Develop and lead a high-performing scientific and technical cross-functional team of R&D

Interface directly with clients to establish client-specific product and process requirements and grow new business opportunities

Required

12+ years of experience in biochemical research or related area

Track record of leading research collaborations with academia and industry

Experience leading teams, including direct supervision of researchers

Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in a scientific discipline related to Aldevron's core business (Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Chemistry, etc.) and/or a Doctor of Medicine degree (M.D.)
