Responsibilities
Operates equipment such as loaders, dump trucks, bull dozers, backhoes, tracked hydraulic excavators, combination vacuum/high pressure sewer cleaning truck, hydro excavation truck, crane truck, golf cart, ATV utility vehicle, and skid-steer loader with associated attachments for operations related to the construction and maintenance of water and sewer assets
Utilizes and trains assigned crews in the use of hydraulic tools, water loss, smoke/dye, and acoustic data gathering equipment
Utilizes and trains crews in the use of tapping/valve insertion machines, pneumatic and other related equipment
Sets up work plans, assigns daily tasks to assigned crews; leads work crew in the installation, maintenance, repair or replacement of water or sewer assets; participates in work performance meetings and provides technical assistance as necessary, provides tailgate meetings, ensures on-site safety of crew and general public
Responds to on-site customer complaints regarding water or sewer service and related problems; prepares daily electronic records and reports; performs maintenance and repairs in a manner that adheres to Environmental Protections Agency or AWWA guidance or requirements, performs minor repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment, coordinates major repairs and servicing of equipment with management; Completes inspection/inventory lists and associated documentation for equipment and materials
Qualification
Required
Equivalent to high school diploma
Two (2) years internal or four (4) years external experience in construction and maintenance of utility systems
Two (2) years' experience in the operation and routine maintenance of the indicated equipment
Must have a valid Ohio Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
Must pass Department of Transportation physical exam
Must be an active registrant with the FMCSA clearinghouse as a licensed CDL driver
Must maintain a current valid United States driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Must obtain tanker endorsements for the required State of Ohio Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) within one (1) year of hire
Must obtain Backflow Prevention certificate within one (1) year of hire
Must obtain Ohio Class I Wastewater Collection license or Class I Water Distribution license within eighteen (18) months of hire
Must maintain certification and licensure
