Responsibilities

Performs paraprofessional staff support by coordinating assigned tasks related to the public records requests and projects; implements directions from superiors that are provided orally and/or in writing; compiles and edits data; prepares reports that include conclusions and recommendations; composes, types, edits and reviews memos and correspondences; receives service requests and provides information to the public in person, by telephone, or through written correspondence where judgment, knowledge and interpretive skills may be required; reviews and checks documents, records and forms; and performs other related duties as required

Required

Knowledge of materials, equipment, regulations, principles, procedures and practices related to record keeping practices and procedures
Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment
Knowledge of report writing and basic mathematical computations
Ability to meet medical and physical employment standards for the classification
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions
Ability to compose correspondence, brochures, flyers and other informational documents
Ability to provide information to the public in person, by telephone, or through written correspondence where judgment, knowledge and interpretive skills may be required
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Ability to work overtime as necessary
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and members of the public
Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle in the State of California
Must be at least 18 years of age to apply
Must possess a valid California Driver's License
Completion of high school is required
