Responsibilities

Contribute to the achievement of operational objectives for the underwriting function and/or business unit
Perform underwriting activities in accordance with all legal and regulatory requirements to ensure obligations are met
Provide efficient and timely service to brokers and clients
Evaluate risk for new business in accordance with standards, to ensure profitable growth
Motivate and develop the team by demonstrating good leadership behaviors and management best practice
Initiate and maintain product and rating development by communicating with internal business partners
Collaborate with senior department leaders and key stakeholders to influence strategy development
Measure and optimize portfolio progress by reviewing and analyzing underwriting data
Build and maintain relationships with current and potential customers by providing quality customer service

Significant underwriting experience in the insurance industry, including operations, sales, underwriting, and claims
Established customer/broker relationships
Use of risk profiling, pricing tools, and loss models
Financial Institutions D&O/E&O underwriting experience
Level 2-3 underwriting authority
