They are seeking a Business Development Director to lead a team, drive strategic growth initiatives, and secure new clinical research opportunities through a consultative sales approach.

Responsibilities

Actively identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities in alignment with corporate growth strategy
Cultivate and manage a robust pipeline of qualified leads, from initial contact through to contract execution
Expand business within existing accounts by identifying unmet client needs and proposing appropriate solutions
Establish and nurture long-term relationships with decision-makers, including C-level executives, clinical operations leaders, and procurement teams
Maintain high visibility and regular contact with clients to monitor satisfaction and anticipate future needs
Serve as the strategic point of contact for key accounts, resolving issues and ensuring excellent service delivery in collaboration with operational teams
Develop and implement comprehensive account plans
Track market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to inform business development strategies
Provide strategic input into service and capability development based on market intelligence and customer feedback

Required

Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field
Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in business development or sales within a CRO
Demonstrated success in securing small to mid-scale clinical trial contracts and achieving sales targets
In-depth knowledge of the drug development lifecycle, regulatory frameworks, and clinical trial operations
Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret and negotiate complex contracts and budgets
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills
Proven ability to influence internal and external stakeholders and manage complex, matrixed relationships
Strategic thinking and commercial awareness
Executive presence and strong communication skills
