Responsibilities

As Workforce Development staff for Industrial/Manufacturing programs, the Heavy Equipment Instructor is responsible for delivering instruction for both contract and open enrollment courses; responsible for designing and implementing learning strategies for students; develops course syllabi and instructional materials; maintains instructional records; student recruitment, advisement and retention; develops and evaluates courses, programs and services; participates in college activities and committees; and other duties which support the mission and initiatives of the College

Teaches assigned courses at all SCC campuses and on-site client locations to meet program needs, including courses scheduled before or after standard business operating hours to accommodate student and employer availability

Responsible for curriculum development, creation of syllabi, and material development/selection

In conjunction with the Dean of Industrial and the Executive Director of Workforce Development, meets with new and existing clients to deliver contract training

Advises students in academic and employment planning

Works with the supervisor to ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and repairs are scheduled as necessary
