Liaison Engineer, 2nd Shift, Amazon Leo

Amazon is looking for a Liaison Engineer to join the Leo's Structural Integrity and Analysis team, focusing on resolving engineering issues during production operations for their satellite network. Responsibilities

Review and disposition non-conformance events of the spacecraft and its ground support equipment that may occur in all phases of the Leo operations: procurement, storage, handling, manufacturing, assembly, testing, transportation, final integration, launch and orbital operations
Develop standard repairs, rework procedures, propose design for manufacturing (DFM) improvements, improved processes and work instructions
Document static, dynamic and fatigue stress analyses when needed to support dispositions, interpreting established structural analysis reports
Develop analysis methods to address common structural non-conformances
Work with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering experts to provide root cause failure analyses
Interact with internal customers, external customers, and suppliers

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering field, or equivalent experience
3+ years of demonstrated experience in a Liaison Engineer / Material Review Board (MRB) role with aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structures
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Preferred

Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
Experience with the project management of technical projects
Strong fundamentals in engineering fundamentals (statics, dynamics, modal, frequency response, random vibration, sine and acoustic analyses/tests)
Experience with fatigue and fracture analyses
Knowledge of or experience with spacecraft technology and related primary, secondary and tertiary structures
Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
Strong understanding or Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
Strong understanding of ANSI Y14.5M-1994 (drawing interpretation)
Experience with Siemens Products (Teamcenter, NX, NX Nastran)
