PRINCIPAL ENGINEER - STAFF ENGINEER - Marine Structures & Pressure Vessels

Responsibilities
Guide a multidisciplinary team to support the design and fabrication of large article pressure vessels used in a variety of subsea or surface applications
Ensure acceptable delivery of final product in terms quality, function, performance, and certifiability for intended purpose
Provide approval of technical documentation including drawings, material specifications, work instructions, technical design/analysis reports, and fabrication plans
Ensure fabrication processes comply with project requirements by providing subject matter expert input
Participate in business development efforts for manned and unmanned pressure vessel projects such as technical presentations, client visits, concept development and/or personnel searches
Interface with project managers and team members to identify, plan, and execute project objectives
Provide input and co-design efforts for structures, mechanisms, and pressure chambers
Conduct design reviews, provide feedback, training as needed, and identify/communicate corrections to ensure components, assemblies, and systems meet criteria
Regularly communicate status and assist project management in prioritizing activities
Execute quality program objectives to meet internal, project-specific, and/or industry standards. This may include generation of new or editing of existing documentation
Ensure proper change management is followed through monitoring of activities of various teams or systems
Communicate changes regularly with engineering staff and project management
Qualification
Required
Requires a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture or Ocean Engineering
15+ years: Expertise in design, analysis, and fabrication elements for marine/sub-surface structural engineering. Expertise in the quality requirements of P-9290 and/or fabrication requirements of Tech Pub 1688 and/or technical requirements of ASME BPVC / PVHO codes
5+ years: Leadership and supervisory experience including training of individuals
Proficiency in fabrication and inspection methods for high-strength steels, advanced metallic alloys, and non-metallics for marine environments
A valid/clear driver's license is required
Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
Applicant must be a U.S. citizen
Preferred
Experience in finite element analysis for complex or combined pressure loading scenarios, additional mechanism design experience preferred
