Responsibilities

You will provide guidance, consultation, and assistance to assist in achieving full and ongoing compliance with certification standards related to Counseling and Advocacy services
You will follow established family support program directives and instructions to provide education and training
You will coordinate the integration of managerial, administrative, and technical work to provide oversight of prevention and education programs
You will manage cases (e.g., spouse abuse, child abuse) as the primary point of contact to maintain compliance with reporting requirements
You will monitor the maintenance of counseling and advocacy staff credential and professional files for compliance with organizational policy requirements
You will verify research data for accuracy, consistency, relevance, and organization of statistical analysis

Required

Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment

This is an overseas position. You will be subject to and must be able to satisfy the overseas requirements

You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326
Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management
You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license
Position requires a successful Access National Agency Check Investigation (ANACI) and childcare background check via the SF-86 Security Form
Must have a current State license or State certification that provides legal authority to provide clinical services as an independent practitioner
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-1212-grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing clinical counseling services to include assessment/diagnosis, treatment planning, short-term solution focused counseling, critical incident response, and coordination of social services; 2) Facilitating services for a family advocacy program including prevention, reporting, assessment, intervention, case management, treatment, consultation, and community partnerships for child abuse/neglect or spouse abuse; 3) Planning techniques to provide prevention or intervention to isolated incidents, stress management, and suicide intervention; and 4) Directing use of resources to ensure delivery of counseling or advocacy programs and services
Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess: A behavioral or social science degree, or a degree in a related discipline appropriate to the position being filled, -OR- A combination of education and experience that provided knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. -OR- Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field
Must have a minimum of two years full-time, post licensure clinical experience in a clinical setting
Must have a minimum of one-year post-masters clinical experience in the assessment and treatment of child abuse/neglect and/or spouse abuse
Must have a minimum of two years full-time, post-masters supervised clinical experience
Must have a master's degree in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education or equivalent degree; or a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education or equivalent degree; or a Doctoral degree in Psychology from a program accredited by the American Psychological Association or equivalent degree
