Responsibilities

You will serve as the principal point of contact and functional expert on matters pertaining to ammunition accounting, space control, load plan, inventory and freight rate
You will conduct studies utilizing a systematic approach and a variety of techniques such as interviewing, work sampling, process observation to gather data from a wide array of sources
You will assemble, analyze, and translate data into reports, process flowcharts and diagrams that support command planning to maximize efficiency and eliminate constraints
You will supervise the receipt and review processes of incoming requisitions and take appropriate action to ensure completion
You will monitor status of requisitions and manage load plans
You will maintain the ordnance inventory management systems
You will be responsible for quality control operations in order to maintain the regulatory 100 percent accuracy rate of all ordnance
You will plan and initiate internal management controls and manage maintenance of the local inventory management systems

Required

Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level
This is an overseas position. You will be subject to and must be able to satisfy the overseas requirements
This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States
If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport
May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations
You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326
Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service
You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS
This is a Mission Essential position
Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
Specialized experience must demonstrate most or all of the following duties: 1.) Maintaining the ordnance inventory management systems; 2.) Planning and initiating internal management controls and managing the maintenance of the local inventory management systems and related functions; 3.) Providing detailed technical advice and assistance in areas of specialized ordnance management to support the command asset management team, and other customers; and 4.) Performing analytical research for special projects and reports
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related
