Manager, Engineering
StandardAero is an industry leader in MRO services and customized solutions in the aerospace field. The Engineering Manager directs the activities and operations of an engineering department/project team, overseeing engineering projects and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
Develop and implement standards, policies and procedures for engineering and technical work performed in the relevant department/project team
Plan, organize, direct and control the activities and operations of an engineering department/project team
Consult and negotiate with clients to prepare specifications, explain proposals and present engineering reports and findings
May participate directly in the design, development and inspection of technical projects or in the engineering work of the department/project team
Oversee engineering projects to ensure they are technically sound and in compliance with all internal and external regulatory standards
Monitor the progress of on-going projects, make recommendations for improving the process to meet the needs of the end-users, performs job cost reporting, budget analysis and reporting of overall project control
Determine if assistance is required from outside contractors, initiates arrangements, provides technical data and assists contractors with related support services
Exercise authority in hiring, training, career development, performance appraisal, salary adjustments, promotion, discipline, health, safety and the general employee relations of direct reports
Actively participate as a member of the appropriate management team(s), assisting with the development and realization of departmental strategic plans, budgets, goals and outcomes
Carry out special projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
University degree in an engineering discipline; or equivalent (Required)
5+ years of experience in an engineering discipline, including minimum of 2 years supervisory experience (Required)
3+ years' experience in the engine maintenance repair and overhaul space (Required)
Preferred
Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills
Strong project management skills
Working knowledge of PC's in the current company operating system environment
