Research Scientist-Center for Psychiatric Genetics

The Research Scientist at the Center for Psychiatric Genetics will lead and direct genomics and imaging data analyses for federally funded projects while developing independent research projects in neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders.

Responsibilities

Serve as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator on research projects with responsibilities including but not limited to: monitoring research budgets, developing and managing research projects, designing experiments and procedures, and performing analysis for publication and presentation
As a Co-Investigator, lead the data analyses of different projects and provide bioinformatic and computational support to the research programs at CPG
Supervise Research Assistants, Post-docs, students and other laboratory personnel conducting experimental procedures and data collection
Participate in national or international scientific/professional meetings as speaker/presenter
Submit grant applications to internal and external sponsors for research projects as a Principal Investigator/Program Director
Contribute manuscripts annually as a primary author or senior author for manuscripts submitted to peer reviewed journals

Qualification

Required

Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or M.D., including those conferred outside of the U.S.)
Between 2-5 years of experience, after conferral of doctorate, either as postdoctoral fellow, in a professional research laboratory, Assistant Professor, or a combination thereof

Preferred

Bioinformatics or genomics background and skills are preferred
Strong motivation and potential to develop independent externally-funded research on neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders is a plus
