Boom Supersonic is building the world’s fastest passenger aircraft and is seeking a CNC Machinist to manufacture precision components for advanced aerospace systems. The role involves setting up and operating CNC machines, interpreting engineering drawings, and ensuring part accuracy through quality checks.

Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, and more) to create precision aerospace parts that meet exacting specifications
Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and CAD models to determine machining requirements
Program CNC machines using G-code and M-code, as well as modify existing programs to optimize performance
Inspect parts before and after machining using micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools
Conduct in-process quality checks to ensure part accuracy and adherence to tolerances
Perform basic machine maintenance and resolve routine equipment issues
Track production data and support continuous improvement efforts on the shop floor
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area—and contribute to a culture of safety and accountability
Qualification
Required
Experience with CNC mills, lathes, or similar automated machining equipment
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification in machining preferred
Solid understanding of shop math, blueprints, and layout techniques
Skilled in setting up tooling, loading programs, and editing G-code/M-code
Familiar with SPC methodology and lean manufacturing principles
Comfortable working independently and as part of a high-performing team
Reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to doing things the right way—every time

To conform to U.S. Government aerospace technology export regulations (ITAR and EAR), applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
Preferred
Experience machining aerospace components or other high-tolerance parts
Comfortable with tight deadlines and quick-turn production cycles—without compromising quality
Familiarity with multi-axis CNC machines or custom fixturing
Track record of spotting issues before they become problems—whether in tooling, code, or setup
Hands-on mindset with a drive to improve processes, not just follow them
Pride in craftsmanship—you care about precision, presentation, and getting it right the first time
