RS&H is seeking a talented Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their Charlotte location. The role involves leading engineering discipline on projects, working independently on technical matters, and providing innovative solutions in a multi-discipline design team environment.

Responsibilities

Performs all aspects of design, predesign and engineering tasks, including utilizing production software, and developing impact studies, cost analyses, and design requirements

Analyzes and interprets data

Designs a complete project, system, component, or process. Prepares complete project documents, engineering analysis, and reports

Performs as-needed field reviews and observations of ongoing construction projects to gain increased understanding of construction practices and design applications

Performs quality control reviews and ensure achievement of key milestones and deliverables

Formulates and solves problems with timely and innovative solutions

Remains knowledgeable of all applicable federal, state, and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances that are pertinent to respective discipline

May provide technical guidance and assign tasks to junior and support staff for project duration. May also manage discipline and small multidisciplinary teams and ensure adherence to company and project contractual requirements

Performs all other duties as assigned and within scope of practice

Required

Requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent experience

Typically requires a minimum of 10 years' relevant experience

This experience includes working on parts of a major project or multiple moderate-sized projects

Proven experience leading and/or providing technical guidance to entry/junior-level staff

This includes proven experience reviewing others' work for technical accuracy

Proven experience participating in the design and implementation of new services, processes, standards, and/or operational plans that had great impact on the achievement of functional results

PE required, if available for discipline

Proficient in production software and construction document production

Must possess strong oral and written communications skills

Must have the ability to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, and other key stakeholders

Proven ability to successfully address challenging or potentially controversial issues in a sound professional and business-like manner

Preferred

Experience with REVIT

Ability to participate in business development, marketing, and client coordination

Financial, Workplace, Industrial, Healthcare or AHCA experience

Experience with managing staff

Ability to travel on a limited basis
