InternSheppard Pratt is providing an internship opportunity for students in Social Work. This role will involve working with various patient populations under the supervision of a licensed social worker, focusing on developing essential skills for a competent social worker.

Responsibilities
Report to the unit 2 days a week
Serve a variety of patient populations on either our child& adolescent or adult service lines and day programs
Complete a comprehensive psychosocial assessment
Communicate with patient’s family/guardian
Communicate with internal and external treatment team members
Assist with Discharge Planning
Conduct clinical groups 1-2 times a week
Readiness to learn from all experiences
Demonstrate patience and compassion when working with those with mental illnesses
Qualification
Required
Students applying to this internship must demonstrate effective time management
Students must demonstrate efficient oral and written communication skills
Students must be willing to work with a team
Students must demonstrate the ability to be self-motivated
