Responsibilities
Lead the technical delivery of projects of varying complexity from concept development through final design
Have the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Participate in working meetings during design development with internal teams as well as sub-consultant staff to ensure consistency, thoroughness, and quality of work product
Oversee, mentor and review the work of junior staff
Coordinate workload throughout entire project development and ensure completion of documents on schedule and within budget
Perform Project Engineer duties including financial responsibility for your assigned aspects of projects, and contribute to progress reports, and schedule updates
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree
Previous experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design
Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license
Hands-on experience with Highways and Roads CAD engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation and Open Roads Designer and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3d
MS Office knowledge
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Experience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Preferred
MS or BS in Civil Engineering or closely related engineering field
5+ years of design experience in all aspects of Roadway Design including Geometry, Utility, Drainage, Grading and Maintenance and Protection of Traffic design
NY or NJ PE license is Preferred
A working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation, and/or Inroads and Microsoft Office applications
Experience with local clients including PANYNJ, NYSDOT, NYSTA, NYCDOT, NYCDDC, NJDOT, NYC Parks or NJTA
Strong technical skills in highway and/or site/civil design and the ability to mentor staff and review work to ensure high quality standards
Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to prepare memorandums, letters and reports
Demonstrated leadership skills & Effective client communication skills
A working knowledge of project scheduling software
Active participation in professional engineering community activities
