The Data Scientist will leverage AI and data analytics to detect, prevent, and investigate fraud and other crimes, developing predictive models and collaborating with stakeholders to translate data needs into actionable projects.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement predictive models and machine learning algorithms to identify patterns

Use AI/analytics platforms to analyze complex and large volumes of data from various sources to identify potential fraudulent activities

Apply graph data science techniques to uncover hidden relationships and detect fraudulent networks

Utilize Neo4j and other graph databases to model complex relationships in fraud/criminal investigations

Develop fraud detection models leveraging network analytics, link prediction, and anomaly detection in transaction data

Collaborate with law enforcement, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into data science projects

Communicate complex quantitative analyses in a clear, precise, and actionable manner to non-technical stakeholders

Keep abreast of the latest developments in AI, machine learning, and data science

Ensure the proper implementation of data privacy regulations and best practices in data security within all AI and analytics projects

Participate in the development of strategies and policies related to crime prevention and detection

Assist in preparing reports and presentations for senior management and other stakeholders

Must reside in the DC Metro area and be able to attend regularly scheduled in-person meetings

Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., statistics, mathematics, operations research, engineering, or computer science) with 3-6 years of relevant work experience

Or, a Master's Degree with 2+ years of relevant work experience
