Responsibilities
Various types of construction stake out projects
Topographic surveys
Performs mathematical calculations for field checking data
Take accurate and clear notes in the field
Read and understand engineering drawings
Know basic sources of measurement errors
Know principles of monumentation, staking and marking
Responsible for the quality and performance of survey crew
Responsible for the maintenance of all Company equipment
Self-motivated and organized with good decision-making skills
Accurate completion of time and expenses
Responsible for submitting data and notes daily
Responsible for meeting with clients and public landowners as required in a professional manner
Flexible and adaptable to change
Qualification
Required
5 plus years working as a surveyor on a new construction site
1+ year's supervisory experience
Proficient in managing crew, time, and costs
Good leadership and communication skills
Good understanding of Matrix Service policies and procedures
Completed the Matrix Service Safety training
Completed Process Safety Management training
Completed Client / Site specific training
To obtain and maintain active status within the required drug testing program
Must Pass a Background Check
Will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting
Will talk and hear to communicate
Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls and tools
May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs
Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements
Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE
Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots
