The Cell & Systems Biology Staff Scientist will focus on understanding cellular mechanisms involved in host-pathogen interactions and support integrated multiomics research in high-containment environments, conducting experiments and supporting data integration for systems biology models.

Responsibilities

Conduct in vitro and in vivo experiments to characterize cellular response

Work closely with proteomics and transcriptomics teams

Support data integration for systems biology models

Prepare SOPs and regulatory-compliant reports

Train junior personnel in lab methods

The contractor will be expected to execute their assigned tasks, and to share their findings with other members of the project team. Possesses good written and oral communication skills

The Contractor is expected to write reports and publications and present their findings in meetings

Required

Knowledge of immunological signaling pathways

Familiarity with tissue sample processing

Strong analytical and collaboration skills

Shall be knowledgeable in a relevant field of the life sciences and have desired experience working in a research laboratory

Shall have demonstrated their subject matter expertise in at least one area, and their ability to conduct independent research through publication of several technical reports and/or peer-reviewed publications

Bachelor's degree in biology or related field

Minimum 4+ years in biomedical, cellular, or systems biology research

Experience in cell culture and imaging techniques

Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance eligibility, with no access to classified information, is required

Enroll in the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP), if required
