ARCHITECT III, IV AND V - OAHU
The State of Hawaiʻi is seeking Architects III, IV, and V for various responsibilities in public sector architectural projects. The role involves planning, designing, and overseeing the construction and alteration of public buildings and facilities, requiring professional architectural expertise and potential supervisory duties.

Responsibilities
Performs moderately difficult professional architectural work in preparing complete designs, drawings, specifications, estimates and reports for public buildings and structures, subject to the technical review of registered architects; assists higher-level architects with more difficult and complex projects; and performs other duties as required
Performs professional architectural work in the development of designs, plans, specifications, estimates and reports for all types of public buildings and structures; may supervise the work of lower-level architects and draftsmen assigned to assist on complex projects; and performs other duties as required
Performs difficult and responsible professional architectural work in preparing and/or supervising the preparation of architectural designs, plans, specifications, estimates and report; and performs other duties as required

Legal Authorization To Work: The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States
Professional License: Applicants for Level IV and V must possess a valid State of Hawaii Professional Architect license at the time of application
Education: A bachelor's degree in architecture or architectural engineering from an accredited university
Architectural Experience: Professional architectural work experience in developing and preparing complete designs, drawings, specifications, estimates of buildings, structure, and installations
Level III: Two (2) years of work experience with assignments that are usually given in terms of specific objectives with instructions, often performing portions of more complex projects assigned to a higher-level architect
Level IV: Three (3) years of work experience performing journeyman-level architect, involving performance of the full range of professional architectural activity; assume responsibility for major and complex architectural projects; and works under the general supervision of an architect or engineer of higher level
Level V: Four (4) years of professional work experience and performs difficult and responsible professional architectural work in preparing and/or supervising the preparation of architectural designs, plans, specifications, estimates and reports
At least one (1) year of the required architectural experience must have been comparable to the Architect IV level in the state service as a licensed professional
Supervisory Aptitude: Applicants for Level V must demonstrate aptitude or potential for the performance of supervisory duties through successful completion of regular or special assignments which involve some supervisory responsibilities or aspects of supervision
Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required for some positions. For these positions, applicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment
