Responsibilities
Help establish technical standards and drive Amazon’s overall technical architecture, engineering practices, and engineering methodologies
Work on our hardest problems, building high quality, architecturally sound systems that are aligned with our business needs
Think globally when building systems, ensuring Amazon.com builds high performing, scalable systems that fit well together
Own the hardware design life cycle, manage systems that ensure every piece of server hardware is healthy and manageable, and build essential software that interfaces with cutting-edge embedded systems all over the world
Translate business needs into workable technology solutions
Produce both detailed technical work and high-level architectural designs
Qualification
Required
10+ years of experience in server technologies, including: electrical, mechanical, thermal, and software
8+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
Preferred
Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials Science or a related field
Experience developing and operating hardware at scale
